Brafa 2023, 29 january – 5 february, Brussels expo

Apolloni has been in the art business for three generations and is one of Rome’s oldest and most illustrious antiques shops, selling many masterpieces to museums in Italy and abroad. After almost half a century the gallery has moved from Via del Babuino to the main ground floor rooms of the famous Palazzo Patrizi in Via Margutta 53b, Rome’s most artistic street. The building was constructed to house studios for artists and was where Picasso worked when in Rome in 1917. It is also where the British Academy was housed until 1937. The spacious rooms with their high ceilings and tall windows are ideal for displaying art, while the secret garden at the back, full of classical fragments and covered in ivy, unquestionably makes this one of the most beautiful galleries in Rome.
